Financial Aid
For information about Financial Aid, including application, change in award, adjustment to certified amount, loan approval, eligibility, etc., please contact the Office of Financial Aid at: http://www.usc.edu/financialaid .

Student Health Center Fee:
The Student Health Center Service fee is not the same as the Student Health Insurance fee. The Student Health Service fee pays for use of an out-patient clinic and other services, and is mandatory for all students taking six or more units. Fall and spring terms have a set fee (See website).  For summer terms, the fee is assessed based on the number of weeks of class which will be attended.

You can get more information about health center fees on their website at:
       http://engemannshc.usc.edu/insurance/student-health-center-fee/ .

Contact: Engemann Student Health Center at http://engemannshc.usc.edu/insurance/insurance-plan/ or call (213) 749-9355.
Student Health Insurance:
Student Health Insurance is mandatory, unless you can prove that you already have comparable health insurance coverage. Health insurance waiver forms (and instructions) are available on the Health Center website at: http://engemannshc.usc.edu/insurance/insurance-plan/ . The waiver submission deadline is 3 weeks after the fall/spring payment deadline.

All students carrying 6 units or more are automatically enrolled in the USC student health insurance plan. All international and Health Sciences campus students are required to have health insurance even if they carry less than 6 units and are automatically enrolled.  Students who are registered for classes at off-campus locations (ie: Skirball Center or Orange County) will follow a different health plan structure.

Contact: Engemann Student Health Center at http://engemannshc.usc.edu/insurance/insurance-plan/ or call (213) 749-9355.

Housing and Dining Transactions (Deposits, Rent, Utilities, etc.):

Housing and Dining Transactions include: Application fee, Charges for Common Area Damage, Commitment Deposit (HSG Confirmation fee), Commitment Deposit Refunds (at end of terms: Fall-Dec, Spring-May or Summer-Aug), Early Arrival Fee, Electricity Charges, Housing Activity Fee, Housing Early Arrival Fee, Housing Rent, Housing - Common Area Damage, Housing deposit refunds (at end of fall or spring terms), HSG Miscellaneous Charge, Meal Plans, Rent, etc.

A housing confirmation payment must be made at the time you confirm your housing contract. If you remain in housing for the full term of your Fall & Spring contract, your confirmation fee for will be credited to your student account in two installments (half in late fall, half in late spring) provided you have complied with the terms of your housing contract.   This is why you may see a charge for the upcoming fall term’s confirmation deposit followed by a credit for the previous fall’s deposit.  For more information, please visit http://housing.usc.edu/index.php/section/confirm-payment/ .

Please contact HOUSING if you have a question about a transaction posted to your student account.

If you are a NEW student, online financial services and billing statements will not be available until after you have registered!

For students who register early: Fall & Spring tuition fees are not posted until approximately 1 month prior to the start of classes.  Shortly thereafter non-federal Financial Aid begins to post, and a few days before classes federal aid begins to post. Fall / Spring billing statements are generated about 1 month before the settlement deadline. If you need a Fall / Spring term billing statement before the payment deadline, please be sure to register early. (See Schedule of Classes at: http://www.usc.edu/soc )

These fees are usually listed in the Schedule of Classes for each term, please contact the individual department for questions or more information. To look up contact information for your department or school, go to the USC Catalogue at www.usc.edu/catalogue , and click on 'The Schools'...

Late Fees and Penalties / Finance Charges
(excerpt from policy stated in the Schedule of Classes)
To avoid late fees, you must register and have your tuition, fees, housing, dining and all other charges paid or deferred by 5pm PST on the Fall / Spring settlement deadline (summer tuition & fees are due when billed). If you fail to register and settle your account, you will be assessed a $100 late fee for each of the first 3 weeks of the term until the balance is settled. Non-receipt of a bill does not relieve you of this settlement deadline.

If late fees are the result of Financial Aid posting credits after the payment deadline please contact the Office of Financial Aid at: http://www.usc.edu/financialaid about removing the late fees assessed to your account.

If the late fees were caused by another USC department posting late or incorrect transactions, please contact them for further assistance.
