Student Health Insurance
Enrollment may be waived only if documented proof of comparable coverage from another plan
is presented to the Student Health Insurance Office and it meets the university’s requirements.
Please check your Fall / Spring billing statement (or epay current transactions) for insurance charges. Because charges can be changed based on enrollment status, you need to look at ALL of your transactions to determine the net insurance charge you have been assessed.

Waiving Student Health Insurance
Waivers submitted in the fall are good for the entire academic year.
Please note that waivers must be renewed each fall.
Waivers for spring/summer terms (only) may be requested beginning in early December,
and are only good for the spring/summer term.

Student Health Insurance, which can be waived under the right conditions, is not the same as the Student Health Center fee, which cannot be waived. If you wish to request a waiver of the mandatory Student Health Insurance fee and have not already done so, please go to the Engemann Student Health Center at: http://engemannshc.usc.edu/insurance/waivers/ , by the deadline.
Enrolling in Student Health Insurance
If you have not been charged and wish to be enrolled in the Student Health Insurance plan:
- Login to MyUSC
- Click on OASIS
- Click on Student Health Insurance, (last item under the “other services” tab in OASIS), which will bring you to the Aetna Student Health online enrollment system.
- Follow the instructions to complete your online enrollment.
