Frequently Asked Questions

What is a "delinquent" account? Or, when is a payment to my student account considered "late"?

An account is considered delinquent if:

  • the full payment due is not received by 5:00 p.m. on the payment due date listed on the statement or,
  • during registration periods when the account balance is not paid in full by the settlement deadline (summer tuition is due when billed)

You may verify that a payment has been posted to your account by going to the TRANSACTIONS page on USCe.pay.

FOR FALL AND SPRING TERMS:
If you do not register during the early registration period, transactions on your student account may not appear on a billing statement before the settlement deadline. However, your payment will still be considered "late" if you do not pay or settle your account before the settlement deadline / due date.

If you change your schedule during late registration (after classes have begun), any additional tuition and fees are due by Friday of the week in which they were incurred.

  • To avoid late fees and penalties, payments should be received by the university by the settlement deadline. Inability to access or use USCe.pay does not relieve students from the responsibility to meet the settlement deadline. You may wish to discuss with your bank what issues would cause them to reject a payment request.

  • It is your responsibility to make sure that your payment is mailed or submitted properly (at least 5 -10 business days before the deadline if mailed within the continental U.S., allow more time for HI, AK and international mail), and in plenty of time to be received by the settlement deadline.  Please review our FAQ's about all types of payments, including: mailed payments; and about payment processing delays caused by expediting mail to our PO box, wire transfers, etc.

  • For specific dates and deadlines, please look under "Information" in the Schedule of Classes.  Summer tuition and fees are due at the time of registration.

  • Online payments are submitted to our bank as soon as you click the 'Submit' button.  If you have made any errors in your payment entry which causes your bank to reject the payment request, your payment will be considered a 'returned item' and your account will be subject to late fees and penalties.
