Why hasn't my Tuition Assistance been applied to my balance?Tuition Assistance for USC Employees includes:
- Graduate Assistance: RA's, TA's, Assistant Lecturer's
Please contact your department. We do not know that you are an RA or TA until your department has entered your award.
- Tuition Assistance Benefit for eligible USC Faculty and Staff (must be employed by the university in a benefits-eligible position on or before the first day of classes in the semester for which application is made). Please see Tuition Assistance Policy for complete explanation of requirements and application information for:
- Dependents using tuition assistance: The required calendar year renewal of documentation of eligibility may not be complete (benefit eligibility must be renewed by the employee each November/December for the following calendar year). Or, for first-time beneficiaries, employee must complete the initial application.
- Staff using Tuition Assistance for themselves must reapply each term.

Other types of tuition assistance students may receive include:
- Government or Other Agency Sponsored Students
Students who are sponsored by a company, a local, state, federal, or international governmental agency, or branch of the US military. Please note that funds coming from outside the United States can take several weeks to reach us. Avoid late fees by making sure funds are wired well before the payment deadline.
- Student Employer Tuition Assistance
Students who receive Tuition Assistance from their employers, other than USC. If you need your charges to appear on a billing statement before the term's payment due date, please be sure to register at least 40 days in advance of the start of classes (during early registration).
- Employee Tuition Reimbursement
Students who receive Tuition Reimbursement from their employers.
- Tuition Refund Insurance
Tuition Refund Insurance, also known as Medical Withdrawal Refund Insurance, is an elective insurance which students must accept or decline during online registration. Reimbursements refund first to your award(s) and any excess will be refunded to you. If your award is subject to a lifetime maximum dollar or tuition unit amount, the refund will reduce the amount you have used against your maximum.
