Buying Green at USC
Green Initiatives in Business Services
As part of the university's commitment to going green, USC Purchasing Services and the other departments of Business Services have undertaken the following sustainability initiatives:
- Ink and Toner Cartridge Recycling Program
- Modified USC business cards to soy-based ink and 100% recycled paper
- Converted USC letterhead and envelopes to 100% recycled paper
- Initiated conversion to EPA-approved recycled janitorial paper products
- Negotiated new waste management and recycling agreement
- Facilitated conversion of USC shuttles to biodiesel fuel
- Negotiated hybrid-car contracts for Transportation Services
- Promoted direct-deposit for payment of invoices, reimbursements and student stipends
