Within the Functional Council, there are committees focused on specific topics. Casandra Porter sits on the following committees:

- helps prioritize the usability issues that are reported from different users as they test the modules

- discusses functional issues universities face as they get ready to implement Kuali

Kuali software development is a collaborative effort by partner universities. As such, USC's division of Financial & Business Services contributes software developers to assist in the design & development effort of KFS.

Kuali Partners have influence on the future of the organization and its projects through voting rights to determine the board of directors and software development priorities.

USC KFS Functional Council

The USC KFS Functional Council is responsible for providing guidance and leadership on overall strategic direction. The responsibilities of the Steering Committee include:

Ensuring clear project scope and milestones
Providing oversight and support for project manager, including
- Resolving conflicts, if necessary, in user preferences and project priorities, and
- Promoting acceptance of the project, including advising on and assisting with communication with the user community;
Advising Associate Senior Vice President, Finance and Business Services on overall progress.
