Controlled Value Card
USC's Controlled Value Card (CV Card) is established with a spending limit that reduces as purchases are made, until the available amount is zero.
Cardholders may use the CV Card for USC business transactions only. Partial business and personal transactions are not permitted. Like the P-Card, the CV Card may not be used for travel or for dining at a restaurant or hotel.
The CV Card expires either when the funds on the card are depleted or on the card's expiration date, whichever comes first. The CV Card's limit and expiration date are established during the application process. The CV Card is ideal for USC business transactions under specific budget or time constraints, such as, but not limited to:
- Short-term sponsored project contracts and grants with specific expiration dates
Although similar in format, the CV Card's online application is a different application from the applications for the Procurement Card and Travel Plus Card. Cardholders must complete the mandatory P-Card training prior to receiving a CV Card (there is no separate training for CV Cardholders).
