Friday, March 16, 2012 P-Card Transition to VISA
USC Corporate Card Services is pleased to announce that the university has selected Citibank as its new corporate card provider, transitioning the corporate card program from American Express to a Visa card platform. The Procurement and Controlled Value Cards will transfer in April 2012, with the Travel Cards to follow in the late summer of 2012 (exact dates to be announced).
Please note that all active AMEX P-Cards will automatically be replaced with Visa cards attached to the same accounts—it is not necessary to reapply.
The following are the first steps for the rollout:
- Corporate Card Services will deliver the new Visa cards for each division to the appropriate SBO.
- SBOs are responsible for distributing the new cards to cardholders.
- Cardholders will be informed of the deactivation date for their AMEX cards and the date to begin using the new Visa cards.
- Cardholders must activate the new cards according to the instructions on the card label prior to using them.
During the transition, credits will continue to post to the AMEX cards after deactivation. After-the-fact credits will be credited to the card's designated department accounts as usual. Billing cycle dates will remain the same (11th–10th of every month), so cardholders may see overlapping eStatements in Kuali for the month of April. Please note that final AMEX eStatements and eStatements for the new Visa cards will appear as separate action items.
Thank you for your cooperation in making this transition as smooth as possible. We are excited about the new program with Citibank and Visa, and we're confident that it will improve our services to all divisions and employees. We will continue to commuicate with cardholders in the coming weeks as additional details become available.
